Heart in the Highlands by Heidi Kimball
My Review
Callum is hot tempered and prideful at the beginning. He has such hatred towards his father that he leaves his father, his mother and his new wife. The jerk! How could you?! Ugh! However, 4 and a half years later, his father suffers a stroke and he needs to return home but first he needs to find the wife he left behind. He has written letters but has never gotten anything in return. He tracks her down and tries to convince her to come back with him. She refuses. But then a little girl enters the scene and Callum finds out he has a daughter. Now he feels even more terrible. He convinces his wife, Kate or Katie as he calls her to come with him. She agrees because of their daughter. Now he must prove himself changed, and win Katie back and be a father to his little girl who he already loves and she loves him back.
I absolutely loved this story!! So so good! I was so mad when Callum left Katie after their wedding night. But when he came back 4 years later, I was rooting for him. I love the relationship between Callum and his daughter. It’s just adorable. Callum is such a great guy he just needs to learn a few things, which he does. I love Katie she is a great mother and she is a very strong woman. Even though she is hurt she learns to forgive and trust again. The chemistry between Callum and Katie is really good and I love the whole family dynamic. Overall fantastic read and I definitely recommend.
