Maggie’s Journey by Lena Nelson Dooley

I was very intrigued by this story right from the beginning! It completely captivated me! Maggie was adopted as a baby and never told. She finds out and is not happy about it. She goes to visit her grandmother and Charles and her aunt accompany her. This is my first read from this author and I loved her storytelling! I also love how she tackled some tough subjects. There are 4 different points of view from Joshua, Florence, Maggie and Charles. I really loved all the characters and love that they had flaws and were not perfect. I think I loved Maggie and her adopted father the most. There was pretty good Christian content sprinkled through out. There were a couple moments, one in particular that I thought was a little inappropriate for a Christian book but nothing too scandalous. Overall I really enjoyed this story of Maggie’s journey and recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

Content: marital intimacy implied between married couple, kissing between married couple(slightly “heated” with light detail), husband thinks about interactions with wife from the previous night(not detailed), woman checks out man throughly enough to make her blush(not really appropriate for Christian book), Florence suffers with infertility and struggles with jealousy because of it, mother dies during childbirth, adoption

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
